Life reindeer herders - Photographer Hamid Sardar-Afkhami

Hamid Sardar-Afkhami photographer, documentary film maker with a Ph.D. from Harvard University. He specializes in study of the Himalayan region and knows the Mongolian and Tibetan languages.

For about 10 years Hamid Sardar-Afkhami lived in Tibet, studied lifestyle, way of life and people traditions in remote Himalayas regions.

Here is a series of pictures about the life of a small settlement of nomads and herders — tsaatans who live in the north of Mongolia. There are about 300-400 people. They are tame deer, bred them for food (yogurt, cheese, milk) and furs.

His editorial has been featured in famous publications such as National Geographic, Geo and Paris Match.
